LEADERS IN LEAD
ECOBAT operates a total of 13 worldwide recognised smelters. Nine of these are based in Europe, three in the U.S.A, and one in South Africa.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS TEMPORARY
In the UK and in France, ECOBAT owns the leading rolled lead sheet manufacturing companies, BLM British Lead and Le Plomb Français.
STORED ENERGY SOLUTIONS
One of the major stockists and distributors of batteries in the United Kingdom is part of the ECOBAT Technologies.
THE COMPLETE WASTE BATTERY SERVICE
More than 70 per cent of the lead currently in circulation is recycled and of that, more than three quarters of the lead produced is used to manufacture vehicle batteries.
Leaders in Lead
As the world’s largest producer and recycler of lead, ECOBAT Technologies Ltd. is currently the only global company offering a closed recycling loop for lead-acid batteries.
That loop begins and ends with specialist ECOBAT group member companies which collect, transport and store waste lead acid batteries and battery powered appliances ready for recycling. The core material from these products is used by our smelters to manufacture the highest quality lead and lead alloys. Our other operational facilities use other products derived from our lead recycling operations to produce a range of industrial products. In some parts of the world we have retail outlets for new batteries, which also take back waste items for recycling.
Our production facilities use the latest cutting edge technologies to ensure high quality, efficient and environmentally responsible products which are renowned for their consistency. All our operations are certified according to ISO 9001 and/or TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 or EMAS standards.
Each facility is tailored to enable us to make products designed for specific markets, such as lead acid batteries and lead sheet, plus other lead products, for example, anodes and wires.
More than 80 per cent of our lead production is pure lead, which involves the manufacture of refined lead from scrap lead sources. We maximise the value derived from our lead recycling operations by converting what would have been waste into other products that we sell or recycle. These include sulphuric acid, polypropylene, sodium sulphate, zinc, aluminium, industrial minerals, plastics and polyfoams.
