SECONDARY LEAD SMELTER BASED IN AUSTRIA
BMG Metall and Recycling GmbH (BMG) is ECOBAT’s Austrian secondary lead smelting company, which operates from its site at EURO NOVA Arnoldstein. Arnoldstein’s NF-metallurgy has a history of lead and tin ores smelting stretching back more than 500 years. Recent years have seen significant investment and today, BMG is a modern secondary lead smelter for lead accumulators and lead containing residues and is also certified as waste disposal plant.
With a workforce of 44, BMG produces around 44,000 tonnes of lead and lead alloys, mainly from waste automotive batteries but also from other wastes containing lead, such as sludge and ash.
